An ice-cream festival is underway in the Iranian city of Mollasani in Khuzestan Province.

An ice-cream festival is underway in the Iranian city of Mollasani in Khuzestan Province.

This is the first time that an ice-cream festival is held in the city.

The festival aims to introduce tourists to the main attraction of the city known for its outstanding ice-creams. The tasty ice-creams are made from fresh cow or buffalo milk.

The festival is being held during Iranian New Year holidays, known as Nowruz, when many Iranians from all around the country travel to Khuzestan Province.

Folk musical performances as well as holding handicrafts exhibitions are also part of the festival.

Mollasani is about 40 kilometers from the provincial capital city of Ahvaz and is situated on a busy road making it an ideal resting area for the tourists.

The ice-cream festival opened on Monday March 27 and will continue for one week.
